a lovely stay but minor adjustments needed
The warm atmosphere created by the staff was genuinely comforting. The room decor and traditional slippers added a touch of culture that enhanced our experience.
Some amenities could have been better maintained.

Cedar bath in room, Drinkable sink water, Shoe lockers for cleanliness
The cypress wood bathrooms may look appealing but they come with maintenance issues!!! Also, navigating from the hotel to the train/subway station isn't as convenient as it could be, which could frustrate future guests!!!

The wooden bathtub was a delightful surprise, but the TV was outdated.

Perfect for families needing a getaway
The cedarwood bathtub was a real standout feature, I spent almost every evening unwinding there after long days. The staff were very nice, I lost my wallet and they helped me track it down quickly, which made all the difference for my family.
It wasn’t exactly wallet-friendly but totally acceptable for what we got.

Staying at this lovely place felt like a luxurious home. Our private room featured a modern shower and a cozy cypress bath, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Kyoto. Plus, the warm hospitality from the staff made our family feel so welcome, pets included!
My wife says that the breakfast options could be more kid-friendly, perhaps adding some variety for picky eaters.

I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Japanese decor and serene environment. The accessibility of the hotel made it easy for me to walk around and enjoy the nearby attractions. The cedar bath was a relaxing highlight of my stay.
More seating areas for relaxation would be beneficial.

Perfect blend of tradition and comfort!
We spent 2 nights here and absolutely loved it. The traditional wooden bath in our room was just what we needed after long days. The bed was super comfy and the tatami mats were a nice touch. We even had in-room breakfast, which was a sweet deal. Just wish it was easier to get to local spots!

Comfortable Stay with Room for Improvement
Our family enjoyed a two-night stay in a spacious superior double room. The natural light was lovely, but early mornings meant less sleep. Dining options nearby were delightful. Pro tip, bring an eye mask for better sleep!

missingWrote a review on 11 Maylimited options
The breakfast presentation left something to be desired. it wasn't very appetizing, and precaution is needed to avoid spills on the new futon. Also, while the room size was manageable for a couple, navigating between luggage and meals could be tight, particularly in smaller room configurations. It's worth mentioning that dining and shopping options nearby were fairly limited, although the city’s public transport made longer journeys to attractions easy.
